Brawerman West began with a bold vision: to build a school where children could grow as thinkers, leaders, and compassionate human beings, grounded in Jewish values and prepared for a changing world.
For more than 25 years, that founding vision has continued to guide what we do every day.

Jewish Values at the Center
Judaism is not just a subject here; it’s a foundation for how we think, learn, and live. We believe that Judaism invites each child to engage deeply with the world around them and to help make the world better.
From classroom discussions to school-wide Shabbat, Jewish values are woven into daily life in joyful and meaningful ways. Our students grow through:

How We Started
In 1999, Brawerman West opened its doors with just 10 Kindergarten students and a dream to create a Reform Jewish elementary school rooted in academic excellence and joyful learning.
Senior Rabbi Harvey Fields led the charge, recognizing the growing need for a Jewish day school on Los Angeles’ Westside.
Where We Are Now
Today, Brawerman West is a fully accredited K–6 school located on the Audrey and Sydney Irmas Campus of Wilshire Boulevard Temple. The school is recognized for innovation in academics, character education, and Jewish life.
Our campus was thoughtfully designed to support inspired learning, combining repurposed architecture with 60,000 square feet of new construction to create a warm, welcoming, and safe school environment.
