Caring for Their World

Our commitment to repairing the world is a core part of how we teach and live our values.Through age-appropriate service projects, students see how their actions can help others and how much they can accomplish when they work together.

Service at Every Level

Tikkun Olam is a call to action and an opportunity to use our energies to repair what is broken in our world. Each grade level focuses on specific projects that are either connected to curricular content (ex. Tree People and JNF in kindergarten) or are selected because the project is of interest to the class community  and provides opportunities to contribute in a hands-on manner (ex. Our Big Kitchen LA).

Beyond grade-level organizations, our school commits resources to support our Temple’s Karsh Center, JNF, Brothers For Life, Museum of the Holocaust, Los Angeles, and others as specific drives or emergent needs arise. We learn with our hands and our hearts that each person can and must repair our world.

Making an Impact Beyond the ClassroomBrawerman families join in service projects around the city throughout the year, showing children what generosity looks like in everyday life. Working side by side with peers and parents, students see how a community can respond to real needs in Los Angeles and beyond.

Student-Led Social Justice Initiatives

Students are encouraged to identify real-world challenges, explore causes they care about, and design projects that reflect their values. Past initiatives have included organizing donation drives, participating in citywide service events, and raising awareness for environmental sustainability.
