Caring For Their World

Students practice seeing the world through a lens of responsibility and compassion. From simple acts of kindness to meaningful service learning, they learn to notice who needs support and how they can help.Rooted in Jewish values and the practice of tikkun olam, repairing the world, they begin to understand that they are capable of contributing in real, tangible ways.

Student-Led Service Projects

From kindergarten through Grade 6, students participate in age-appropriate service learning opportunities that connect classroom lessons to real-world impact. Guided by teachers and supported by their peers, they identify causes that matter to them and take action.

Community Beyond the Classroom

Brawerman West students are part of a larger Jewish community within the Temple, throughout Los Angeles, and around the globe.

Through field trips, guest speakers, family initiatives, and cross-campus collaborations, they gain a broader perspective on the challenges others face and how to meet them where they are.

Community Engagement Through Action

We believe that helping others builds empathy, confidence, and leadership. Our programs empower students to explore what it means to be a change-maker, on campus and out in the world.

Buddies, Mentors, and Role Models

One of our most beloved traditions is the buddy program, which brings ECC and elementary students together for fun, collaborative experiences. Whether learning about a solar eclipse side-by-side or celebrating holidays with art and storytelling, students across ages form friendships that build empathy and leadership. Our Grade 6 students, in particular, take pride in serving as mentors and role models.
